Requirements

In order to participate in sports you MUST have:

A GPA of 2.0 with no F's. (All incoming frosh are eligible unless on academic probation).

• All sports fees paid.
• A uniform deposit on file.
• A yearly sports physical.
• All other athletic forms completed for each sport.
  

For your daughter’s safety. IF your Daughter is considering trying out for a sport, she will need to have a sports physical. She must have this physical prior to beginning tryouts for any sport. This physical is good for one year and covers all the sports she plans to play for that year. Download and complete this form then bring to your health care provider when she is receiving her regular school physical. Remember to bring both physical forms to the doctor. The sports physician’s form must be completed and returned to the front office before trying out for a sport.

The purpose of athletics at Alverno High School is to provide an opportunity for all students to participate in cocurricular physical activity. This activity promotes school spirit and unity while developing within each individual self-discipline, self-confidence, perseverance, and leadership.

The program at Alverno abides by all standing California Interscholastic Federation (C.I.F.) rules and regulations as well as those set forth by the Catholic Athletic Association (C.A.A.).

As a member of any school team, athletes are examples of the school's character and must conduct themselves as such at all times. Failure to do so may result in dismissal from the team. Athletic competition requires commitment and dedication; therefore, athletes are expected to fulfill their responsibilities to the team while still maintaining academic priorities.
